Taking on America!

What a week! The team touched down in London on Monday evening after an 8-hour delay in Madrid airport caused (ironically) by snowy weather. As we flew through passport control at Heathrow the 200+ guests at our welcome home event in central London were filing into the auditorium. We called in - live - from the taxi as we sped, screetching on two wheels, through London back streets trying to put on a bit of make-up and drag a brush through our hair to make ourselves presentable. Finally, 90 minutes late, we burst into the auditorium, stepped straight onto the stage and began speaking about our adventure - it doesn't get much closer than that!

Since then we have sat on the BBC Breakfast sofa for an interview with Bill and Sian, then flown to New York to be on The Today Show with Kim and Lester (see the interview here).

We've also had tea with the Commonwealth Secretary General, Mr Kamalesh Sharma at Marlborough House and been made honorary members of the Commonwealth Club.

Amid all this excitement, the girls have had to say their goodbyes to each other as the team return to their own countries. Reena, Sophia and Kylie have already flown home. Era will be back in Brunei on the 30th January and Steph will return to Cyprus on the 21st January.

The team would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has given them such an amazing welcome home and made them feel very special indeed.

Now that they are home, the team plans to share as many pictures, films and stories with you all as possible, so watch this space for news of events near you!
