Training is done. Preparations are complete. Two years in the making and no more time for delays. The team are on their way.
They have been dropped at the coast of Antarctic and are now left alone to ski 900km to the South Pole.
From now onwards, you can follow their position on the map by clicking the Progress tab on the menu at the top of the screen. In due course, we'll also update their morale and climatic conditions as they go.
For now, let's hear from the team leader...
(Missed this post first time around? That might be because I had to hold it back for a couple of days whilst we informed the appropriate people about Kim coming home - Tim, UK Support)

Felicity's PodCast in writing:
"Hello, this is Felicity, calling you at about 8:00 Antarctic time. We are currently at 82 degrees, 26 minutes south and 64 degrees, 58 minutes west. The position commonly known as the Messner start, and the start point of our journey for the South Pole.
We are extremely please to be out of Patriot Hills and to finally be on our way. Everyone is very excited and it is a gorgeous, gorgeous afternoon. We've been having a bit of a lazy afternoon. All our stuff is repaired and ready to go out tomorrow for our first day skiing towards the South Pole. So, this afternoon we've just been able to laze around in the sunshine, eat lots of the extra food that we brought with us so that we don't have to carry it tomorrow.
We've been mostly eating at the moment. We had our first taste of the Fuizion meals which are the dehydrated meals that we brought with us and evereyone is so impressed. It had proper vegetables and meat it felt like some somone had just cooked it for us. We are extremely pleased with Kung Po Chicken and tomorrow we will be trying the Chicken Tikka Massala - we're all looking forward to that!
Morale at the moment is a stonking 10/10 we are just so excited we can't wait to get started. Looking forward to speaking to you tomorrow and letting you know how our first day of skiing goes. We've all got fingers crossed that this beautiful sunny weather holds. We can't wait to get started towards the horizon, which at moment, 360-degrees in all directions, looks exactly the same so it's very exciting to be making our way across that horizon tomorrow.
Until tomorrow it's goodbye from us!"
Expedition rations are provided by Fuzion foods and you can find out more about them here.
