Last week, Stephanie was honoured at the Annual General Meeting of the Cyprus chapter of the Federation of Business and Professional Women, held at the Hilton Hotel (Nicosia) for her participation in the Kaspersky Commonwealth Antarctic Expedition. As a symbolic gesture, she was presented with a cheque by the ex-President of the BPW Cyprus, Mrs Elena Tanou. The cheque represented the support of the BPW Cyprus for Stephanie's promotion of Cypriot women through the expedition and to celebrate the all-female team that will be promote teamwork and intercultural, interracial understanding during the expedition.
The cocktail event was launched by the Minister of Justice & Publice Order, Mr Loukas Louka who also presides the Ministry's National Machinery for Women's Rights. Is it also through this particular program that the Cypriot government have recently lent their support to Stephanie, recognising her participation in the Kaspersky Commonwealth Antarctic Expedition. Stephanie was very pleased to be able to thank the Minister in person at the cocktail for his support.
Stephanie say that 'the gesture of support from the BPW Cyprus was a particularly important boost, as the federation represents very dynamic and inspiration women in Cypriot Society. To have their support is an honour. The cocktail provided me with the opportunity to meet many of these ladies who voiced many kind words of support and faith in our successful completion of the expedition. All the BPW members are pioneers, so I feel that there are parallels in what our expedition is trying to achieve, with their experiences as women in the male dominant business world. A very special thanks to ex-President Mrs Elena Tanou, and members Mrs Evie Lanitis & Mrs Marianna Vrahimis for taking interest in my participation on this expedition; while also to the newly elected BPW Cyprus President, Mrs Alexandra Galanou who voiced her endless support.'
