Kylie's PodCast in writing:
"Hiits Kylie from New Zealand and I am calling from Patriot Hills.
We had about a three hour and forty-five minute flight from the South Pole Patriot. We spent New Year (Punta Arenas, Chilean time) on the aeroplane with Mr Kaspersky and his team. That was pretty good fun actually. A couple of vodkas and the food which the pilots got us: fruit and biscuits and chocolate and sandwiches. We thought that was great even though we very, very tired. Some people slept through the flight.
We landed at Patriot Hills at some ungodly hour and the whole night staff were up waiting with the most incredible meal we could ever wish for. Huge set table with drinks. We put on our team stuff and we basically ate and drink. A really great bunch here.
Its lovely to be back except it's true Patriot Hills style - it's blowing 18 knots and its coldish and its really different cold to the Pole though, it's not as biting and bitter. We're managing okay. We're just sitting around trying to get back into all in the same time zone and gather all our bits and pieces. We're leaving in a few days hopefully so take care everybody. Signing out from Patriot."
