From frostbite to blisters
Along with packing bags, testing commmunications equipment and sewing badges to kit, the team have spent much of the weekend becomming familiar with the medical kits and talking through various protocols.
From frostbite to blisters, Guy Risdon of Adventure First Aid has been giving the girls a final refresher on the management of common medical problems they might have to face. Guy says:
"The girls are fantastic at multitasking and in between packing and TV crews coming and going they have listened, practiced and asked questions that demonstate they are already well versed and thoughtful. With increasing tiredness and repetative physical strain taking its toll they will have to be more vigilant each day for the waring signs of cold injury. I am sure the girls will excel at every stage and I have no worries about them making sensible and informed decisions about their well being. Stay safe girls, we will be following your every day on the ice and sending out those good vibes. See you all when you get back."
