This is an expedition about more than just skiing to the South Pole as Era (Brunei) reminds us in today's PodCast about what it's like to celebrate Eid AlAdhar in Antarctica.
Also, hot off the press are fresh photographs from Antarctica. Team photographer Rob Hollingworth has just emerged from the white continent and found internet access is Chile to send me back some new images. Expect more and more over the coming days and weeks - Tim (UK Support)

Era's PodCast in writing:
"Salaam alaikum
This is Era calling from Kaspersky Lab Commonwealth Women's Antarctic Expedition. I have got a song for those of you who know what day is today. OK here goes...
(You'll have to listen to the audio for this bit!)
To everyone from Brunei and to my family and my friends and all those who have supported me. Today I have just been singing that song to my tent mates and my team mates as well and I have been sharing stories about what is the significance of it and educating them on Islamic belief. In honour of the day we have been eating lamb because usually today I think we eat sacrificial so we have eaten the lamb today instead of the chicken. We had lamb tagine with couscous and the other tent ate lamb stew.
Today was a good day we did about 22 kilometres, 12.4 nautical miles. For those of you who don't know the converison of nuatical miles is times 1.8.
It was a good day but it was slighty windy so I had to put an extra fleece layer on. Usually I just put on thermals, salopettes and then the windproof layer. But today was a bit chilly so I had to put an extra fleece layer on.
The official blister update: the count of how many blister I have is three right now. I think there might be more on the way. Hopefully not but they do get bigger!"
