Steph's PodCast in writing:
"Hi, this is Steph. It's day one. We've managed to ski 8.1 nautical miles in 6 hours, which is much better than what we expected to be doing. I think everyone's feeling a bit high on the success of the day.
Felicity led off, was the honorary leader of our team, as expedition leader. So, you know, we had a really good run, it was really good weather. Sunny for the morning, and then it just got a bit cold in the afternoon and overcast.
We're all in our tents drying off, drying our kit, looking forward to an early night and another day tomorrow. All good in the camp. For the moment, no issues thankfully, and just getting used to our surroundings and being in the vast wilderness of this vast white, it's unbelievable. Even if I tried to explain it to you I don't think I could. I don't think I could put in words how empty it all seems.
Apart from that I think we're all looking forward to continuing on and covering our mileage for tomorrow as well.
I hope all is well down over in civilisation. We're look forward to seeing you guys in about forty days."
