Training in New Zealand

New Zealand Training

In September 2009 the expedition team travelled to the South Island of New Zealand. They spent 10 days going through kit, rations and mental preparation for the expedition as well as completing a mini-expedition in the Pisa Range near Wanaka to practise tent and travel routines.

Norway Training

Norway Training

The team were selected during a training expedition in Norway during February and March 2009. Sixteen women from all over the world gathered on the remote Hardangervidda plateau. For some it was their first experience of snow, sub-zero temperatures, skiing and camping.
