
As the most important meal of the day, it is important that breakfast contains as much energy-giving carbohydrate as possible. Porridge is simply oats with hot water and sugar added to it. We have decided to use Power Porridge which also contains a whole range of multigrains and seeds to give us extra fibre, minerals and vitamins that are vital to our well-being and performance.
It is too cold to stop in the middle of the day for a single meal. Instead we graze throughout the day on a range of high-carbohydrate, high-fat foods to give us plenty of energy. Sesame Snaps have the highest concentration of fat and carbohydrate we could find in a lightweight snack. We will also be eating popcorn, chocolate, salted peanuts and banana chips.
We use dehydrated meals in a foil pouch which just need hot water added to them before eating. That means no bowls, no cooking pots and no washing up!
