What will the team wear? This!

Thermal Layer: Chocolate Fish Merino Wool base layer

The layer worn closest to the skin traps as much hot air as possible to insulate the body. No material is better for this than Merino Wool and New Zealand Merino is the best in the World! We have chosen Chocolate Fish Merino wool base layers because it is all 100% New Zealand made and is guaranteed to be ethically sourced. We tested the Chocolate Fish thermals in the blistering cold of Norway and found them warm, durable, non-stinky and non-scratchy.

Outer Layer: Montane Extreme Smock and Extreme Salopettes

Designed for high-activity outdoor sports in sustained and extreme cold environments, the Extreme range has a windproof Pertex outer with an insulating synthetic pile lining. Using a smock, rather than a jacket was a new concept for the team but once we tried it during training in New Zealand, there was no going back.

Insulating Layer: Montane North Star Jacket

A highly insulating jacket, worn over all our other clothing is literally a life-line in the extreme cold. The North Star has 800+ fill down but has a quilted design to reduce bulk.

Face Protection: Buff Windstopper

The face takes the brunt of the wind and the cold while skiing and face covering is essential to prevent cold injury. A buff is vital and the extra windstopper fabric is great extra protection.

Hat and socks: Chocolate Fish Merino Wool and Possum beanies and socks

Deliciously soft and warm, the combination of merino and possum is a hit with the team! If you are looking for something cosy for winter, take a look at chocolate Fish - you won't be dissappointed!
